Gabrielle Zevin: Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow (Hardcover, 2022, Knopf)

In this exhilarating novel, two friends--often in love, but never lovers--come together as creative partners …

Fun read about the nature of artistry

a bit cringe when it comes to games? It's a good book. Zevin knows how to write well, and I liked the characters (maybe not as people). Full of many story beats that were incredibly fun to read.

Torrey Peters: Detransition, Baby (Hardcover, 2021, One World)

A whipsmart debut about three women--transgender and cisgender--whose lives collide after an unexpected pregnancy forces …

really quite good, might be too real or too out of touch depending on where you are in life

there's a scene in the book where they discuss a book named with the T slur, and how the author should not have named it that, and it's funny because "detransition, baby", is just as bad, I think.

I did not like any of the characters as people but that is actually besides the point
