I honestly thought I'd enjoy this book a lot more. it did have some interesting ideas that I share and it was quite easy to read but not much stood out tbh..

3.5 !
oh I did enjoy this book, it was funny and relatable and just charming but! i was seriously gonna give it 4 stars if it weren't for the fact that action never really happens? things get solved way too easily and misteriously and the enemy's goal was never cleared up AT ALL which was a bit too ridiculous to me.

anyway, 3.5 because it was a really fun read, it reminded me how much i enjoy science fiction as a whole, and i liked murderbot (who wouldn't, really).

the first chapter was a lot more compelling than the rest of the book.. I think the use of 2nd person was something interesting, given how unusual it is and all.
however, the book itself took me way longer than it should have because it just wasn't that interesting overall and I think it was not a satisfying story, even the ending seemed a bit too much, the characters both bland and kind of annoying. the premise was more interesting than the story itself tbh. oh well.

I persevered because abandoning books is something I am very reticent to do but maybe I should've stopped reading it after the first chapter because, in the end, what did I gain from it? not much.

I'll keep Lev in my heart.

Review of 'My dark Vanessa' on 'Goodreads'

okay, 2.5

what can i say? i finished it because i hardly ever Not finish a book but this is the disappointment of the year (and i had to read some really shitty novels for class but they don't even count).

unfullfilling ending, bad character development, not that interesting of a plot and unlikable main character. yeah, it's about abuse and the like but this book is just meh.

i liked the reference to pale fire, though.

i like certain things about Mishima's writing, certain phrases are just so good. i think this book is good but none of the characters touched my heart, therefore i cannot rate it any higher. i am still not sure what to make of Mishima but I'll decide on the next book i read of him.

Review of 'Bungo Stray Dogs, Vol. 2 (light Novel)' on 'Goodreads'

i obviously can't get enough of this world so i am very happy i read this

asagiri's note at the end was a nice little treasure, too. those 'glimmers' he mentions are a huge contributing factor to my love for this world and its characters.
