Nice and interesting read thus far. It being in German does feel a bit, well not weird, but weirdly familiar, since it's the language I have read the most in, but haven't read any novels in for years now ~w~

Frank is really weird at times, though the sociobiology does get far less frequent.
Too much whack stuff though, whack religious mumbo jumbo, doesn't even acknowledge the theocratic feudalism and deeply intertwined slavery that was in place in Tibet before being liberated during Mao's time. OFC with the reinstatement of capitalism and Han chauvinism, there were many error and excesses in Tibet, but the narrative still feels yucky though...
Whack idealism of peacefully convincing capital to work for the greater good. Overall quite crakkker book unfortunately, but I didn't feel like I wasted my time either ~w~

Contains: Hound of the Baskervilles Sign of Four Study in Scarlet Valley of Fear
OFC it was written by an aristocratic angloid so it's racist at times, but it is also very well written and a literary classic.
Just not for me since the short format unconnected stories make it hard of RMS to keep reading

HOLY FUCKING SHIT FINALLY
Based but nuanced book, nice SciFi-Fantasy without the liberal bullshit but actual materialist and progressive (as in non-bourgeois feminism and queerness) socialism. It's far from a literary masterpiece, but it was quite an enjoyable read.
The Acknowledgement section is great too; to quote a part of it (also the first time I saw a b/w printed emoji in a book like ever):
To Qiu Jin, Alexandra Kollontai, Rosa Luxemburg, Angela Davis, Thomas Sankara, Kristen Ghodsee, Paul Cockshott, and Allin Cottrel, whose speeches and writings were a huge source of the inspiration for this book
hello? based department? I'd like to nominate a novel
+ said douchebag emperor gets pegged by the Empress (MC), LIKE CANONICALLY. There even was a "Peggy Amendment" by the author to make it more clear like aocjwbfooskefn
(I only regret one thing with my experience with the novel: …

(I only regret one thing with my experience with the novel: I mutilated my hard cover edition by scribbling the "Peggy amendment" in my horrendous handwriting using ballpoint pen, thanks to a sleep-deprived excitedness... I should have just printed out the amendment as the later tutorials instructed 😔)

So Wu Zeitian stabs Qi Zheng in the hearts because she knows that he thinks of her as property to be discarded....
This happens after said fight
If she refuses to see reason, he shall do it for her. He has been fat too lenient with her, too tolerant of her insolence. [...] Sentiment weakened him. For the first time in his life, he understands the logic behind binding the feet of a woman. [...] He calls for a staffer to summon [...] her (MCs) precious lady friends . So long as he holds their lives in his hands, she is bound to return to him. She'll come home, even if he has to break her legs and drag her. After all, his son cannot grow up without a mother.
Yoooo wtf. This dude is fucked up so much, kinda sad how a walking contradiction is leading the revolution...
