Babylon Berlin mit Magie: ein historischer Fantasy-Roman aus der Weimarer Republik. Das Leben im Berlin …

Nice and interesting read thus far. It being in German does feel a bit, well not weird, but weirdly familiar, since it's the language I have read the most in, but haven't read any novels in for years now ~w~

reviewed Green Earth by Kim Stanley Robinson

Kim Stanley Robinson: Green Earth (2015, Del Rey)

Good but not that good

Frank is really weird at times, though the sociobiology does get far less frequent.

Too much whack stuff though, whack religious mumbo jumbo, doesn't even acknowledge the theocratic feudalism and deeply intertwined slavery that was in place in Tibet before being liberated during Mao's time. OFC with the reinstatement of capitalism and Han chauvinism, there were many error and excesses in Tibet, but the narrative still feels yucky though...

Whack idealism of peacefully convincing capital to work for the greater good. Overall quite crakkker book unfortunately, but I didn't feel like I wasted my time either ~w~

Arthur Conan Doyle: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle The Complete Sherlock Holmes (2011, Collector's Library)

Contains: Hound of the Baskervilles Sign of Four Study in Scarlet Valley of Fear

Great, but not for me

OFC it was written by an aristocratic angloid so it's racist at times, but it is also very well written and a literary classic.

Just not for me since the short format unconnected stories make it hard of RMS to keep reading

I'm so glad this is part of a trilogy

Based but nuanced book, nice SciFi-Fantasy without the liberal bullshit but actual materialist and progressive (as in non-bourgeois feminism and queerness) socialism. It's far from a literary masterpiece, but it was quite an enjoyable read.

The Acknowledgement section is great too; to quote a part of it (also the first time I saw a b/w printed emoji in a book like ever):

To Qiu Jin, Alexandra Kollontai, Rosa Luxemburg, Angela Davis, Thomas Sankara, Kristen Ghodsee, Paul Cockshott, and Allin Cottrel, whose speeches and writings were a huge source of the inspiration for this book

hello? based department? I'd like to nominate a novel

+ said douchebag emperor gets pegged by the Empress (MC), LIKE CANONICALLY. There even was a "Peggy Amendment" by the author to make it more clear like aocjwbfooskefn

(I only regret one thing with my experience with the novel: …
