Wilkerson masterfully weaves the lives of three Black Americans into a powerful narrative that conveys a wealth of information about the great migration. Wilkerson's extensive interviews with Ida Mae Gladney, George Starling, and Robert Pershing Foster bring depth and humanity to an event that was covered by a couple of sentences in most history textbooks. The Warmth of Other Suns is worth your time.
