This was quite an engrossing book. I have owned it for several years, but never really wanted to read it. I was surprised to find, however, that it was very engaging and informative. I found it hard to get engaged at first, but by the end, I couldn't put it down. The ending goes into some gruesome details, but that's probably not surprising, given that it's a book about Lincoln's assassination. Overall, I recommend this book, but neither this one nor the last one I read, Lincoln and the Fight for Peace, went into enough detail about the life of Lincoln (His death was well covered by this book). So I will have to read more...I've always admired Abraham Lincoln, but as I learn more about him, my admiration has grown exponentially.
