Brandon Sanderson: Arcanum unbounded (2016)

"An all-new 40,000-word Stormlight Archive novella, "Edgedancer," will be the crown jewel of Arcanum Unbounded: …

Review of 'Arcanum unbounded' on 'Goodreads'

This collection of short stories set in Sanderson's vast Cosmere universe amazed me. Sanderson isn't just prolific, he's also bursting with worldbuilding creativity that I can only envy. Some of the Cosmere worlds I already knew, like Sel from Elantris and Scadrial from Mistborn. Kelsier's Mistborn novella was one of the highlights, allowing me the opportunity to revisit the Mistborn trilogy from a totally different angle. Three of the worlds I had never heard about, and every single one had a fascinating setting, like the spooky Forest on Threnody or the desert on Taldain.

The star of the collection was Edgedancer, a novella about Lift, a most unlikely Knight Radiant on Roshar, part of the Stormlight Archive. I loved her, I loved the setting, the mysteries and I am dying to read Oathbringer now.

If you are a Sanderson fan, highly recommended! If you haven't read Sanderson before, probably not quite as good because you wouldn't be able to make much sense of the stories from known Cosmere worlds.
