This is a very unconventional short story. As Rothfuss himself admits, a lot of the elements commonly found in short prose are missing here. Having read his introduction first, I was ready for something unusual. I liked it a lot, both because it's unconventional and because I think auri is so interesting. Kudos to Rothfuss for thinking, and writing, outside the box.
