A great improvement on the classic Little Red Hen story (with a much better ending). The illustrations are vibrant and fun, and the story is sweet. Not recommended for people who don't like spiders (even a cute, anthropomorphic one with a cowboy hat) or beetles. Highly recommended for kids (or kids at heart) who enjoy chili, keeping cozy with friends in cold weather, or reading with a Texan accent.
