3.5 stars. Needed more Culture tech (drones, Minds, etc.) The bad or boring parts went on and on forever, and the good stuff (which was usually really good) was rushed and over too quickly. Still, well worth the read for any Culture fan. Despite my complaints, Banks delivers.
