Finally gave up about about 60% the way through. Too boring and repetitious. Needs either a good edit or a strong warning label on the front cover. While the book may be of interest to a student of US Civil War military campaigns (I cannot say as I am not one), for those interested in US history or in US Civil War history (I am) this book is way too painful. While it has what appears to be excellent insight to Jackson, I believe that could have been accomplished in 100-150 pages with the assistance of a good editor.
