Review of 'Rebel Yell' on 'Goodreads'

Finally gave up about about 60% the way through. Too boring and repetitious. Needs either a good edit or a strong warning label on the front cover. While the book may be of interest to a student of US Civil War military campaigns (I cannot say as I am not one), for those interested in US history or in US Civil War history (I am) this book is way too painful. While it has what appears to be excellent insight to Jackson, I believe that could have been accomplished in 100-150 pages with the assistance of a good editor. I've read a lot on US history and Civil War history by both excellent and fair authors. I would rank this at the bottom of the list to recommend to others. Giving a 2nd star only in case it might be of interest to those studying Civil War battles in detail. …
