Amazing world building

This is my favorite in this world so far!! A little less intense on the political than Emperor, unsurprisingly. A few more mysteries and a little more varied setting than the palace give this a slightly different feel, and a little bit faster pace. Celehar’s an appealing but very different character, and we learn about different magic and settings along the way. Beautiful writing style too! I loved it

Good follow up to Witness

I continue to love this series. Celehar’s personal world expands a bit and we get even more world building. The characters, writing, and setting are still amazingly well developed. The character twist in this book has me a little concerned about Celehar’s development in future books taking the series in a weird direction, but the series has been reliable enough that I’m hopeful for it working out well. A bit of a character cliffhanger, though.
