Neat ending... I guess killing most of the antagonists will do that for you. Enjoyed overall. This was the first book I checked out from my local #library.

I like the detail of how Murderbot switches to using "ComfortUnit" more often than "sexbot" after learning about the ones who had tried to save everyone at Ganaka Pit.

@pixouls@bookwyrm.social Ah, yeah, Astrid definitely had a whole story beyond the page. Seems like she had a long relationship with the Satomi family, perhaps was also a music teacher at one time. We get hints of her back story, but I would like to know what made her so invested in Shizuka playing her music again -- was it just her talent?

IDK, I felt like the Matia story had an appropriate build-up. The reveal at the end about the connection to Amati...yeah, I could take it or leave it. It's meaningful insofar as it reinforces the feminist character of the narrative, but I like Lucia is more relatable if she just becomes a good luthier by practice and training rather than some divine gift.

@pixouls@bookwyrm.social which characters did not "get justice" or "recognition"? I can see Markus, maybe. His whole story was just sad, but he wasn't very fleshed out as a character: mostly his role was to motivate the actions of Lan and Shirley. It would have been really interesting to read the conversation between Lan and Markus after bringing him out of stasis. Brings up questions about the philosophy of the multiverse.
