So many difficult, depressing & complex things in the news just now, so here are is a photo from Wilson Bentley's brilliant 1904 raindrop study. If you hold out a tray with flour on it, the raindrops that fall on it will get coated, then absorb the flour, then make a little dough ball the same size the raindrop was. He did this for lots of storms to see how raindrop sizes varied.

Nature is still ace. And you can still measure your own raindrops.

Autumn leaves outlined with glistening drops of rain on a misty morning, photography. This photography was taken just outside my bedroom window on morning. The sunlight reflecting in the raindrops and on adjoining spider webs created a magical centerpiece for this image. The painting like photo was further enhanced by the brilliant colors of autumn leaves in the background, which were magnified by the light and morning mist.
