By the way, mastodon, Trip Galey's book 'A Market of Dreams and Destiny', is terrific! Have you ever read a book involving fairy bargains and goblin market and thought, 'yes, please, more of that please'? If so, this book is absolutely what you've been waiting for. Fairy bargains piled high and deep, plus labour unions, rhyming bells (lovely magical touch there) and a matchmaking talking cat.

Hello, friends! Remember blogs? I has one. I even occasionally write in it. Here are my thoughts on Emma Southon's new book, 'A History of the Roman Empire in 21 Women'.

Apparently Augustus's daughterJulia absolutely loved to get her some, and Tacitus and Suetonius are absolute pricks.

(Seriously, if you're sleepign on Emma Southon, you've got to fix that. Hers is the only voice I want telling me history anymore.)

I just finished reading "How to loose friends and alienate people."

It wasn't my kind of book exactly and was a thrift store impulse buy. I think fomr the title I was hoping for more of an instruction manual than a memoir 😂

It had some slightly introspecitve, and perhaps even satirical moments. Those made it good enough to earn it a 3/5 stars.

Hello, Mastodon! I've got a review up on Nerds of a Feather, in which I reflect upon the balance of vibes, world-building, ontogeny, and characterization in Alex Pheby's 'Mordew'.
