I am not thrilled with the Kelvin timeline. I still feel that is time travel was used to destroy Vulcan that they’d work to undo it, not accept the destruction of Vulcan and move on.
That’s said, I greatly enjoyed the cast and am always willing to give things a chance.
This is an excellent story set in the kelvin universe. Any other day this would just be a good TOS a story but instead it’s entwined with an interesting what if of past TIS episode and how a destroyed Vulcan would cause it. I didn’t really see that twist coming but it was well done.
