It’s good but it’s only a little bit Night Vale. I usually really enjoy prequels, getting to know how things became the way they are, and in this sense the book is a bit of a letdown in that there is just a bit too much deus ex machina acrobatics happening at the end to make the faceless old woman who she is in the podcast universe.
It’s a good book though.
