This book contains the best of the worst and the worst of the worst from America’s pastime. It’s got the funny moments, like when the New York Mets started their inaugural season with sixteen of them getting stuck in a hotel elevator, or when two Yankees pitchers traded wives and kids, or how the 1899 Cleveland Spiders resorted to having a hotel clerk pitch their final game. It’s got the bad moments, such as the Black Sox scandal and George Steinbrenner getting himself banned from baseball. It’s also got the things you’d never expect, like Babe Ruth getting caught stealing to end a World Series. It’s got the absurd, like Disco Demolition Night, Headlocks and Wedlocks, and Sparky Lyle defecating on cake. Pick it up. You'll enjoy it.
