The first time I tried to read this book about 10 years ago I hated it. It seemed obvious and filled with anecdote after anecdote. So I put it down.

I came back when I was older after having many people that I respect tell me it is one of the best books on interpersonal relationships ever written and it reads completely different. When I was younger I didn't know the people he was talking about, much less respect them for what they did. Comeing back to it, it really opened my eyes to how I should interact with people. And yes, some of it still seems obvious. BUT reflecting on the principals in the book and on myself, I was obviously not following a lot of the advice in the book.
