Anger and Angst

ANGER AND ANGST critically examines the volatile years of the United Conservative Party's time in office (2019-2023). This book focuses on how the UCP has governed, and the ideas, personalities, and social forces behind its agenda. The editors argue that an entrenched elite, located largely in the oil and gas sector, is increasingly fearful of losing its power. In response, it has constructed an elaborate mythology based on a culture of grievance and victimhood. Anger and Angst dismantles this mythology in 22 essays on politics, the economy, the environment, education, housing, gender, racism, right-wing populism, and the UCP's relation to the media.
