An oft-celebrated urban planning book, it is worthy of its reputation. It makes a good philosophical partner to Confessions of a Recovering Engineer, which I read first.
I had to stop myself from quoting every single fact. Cities planned around cars are a root problem for a ton of American issues. The author is very knowledgeable on planning for downtown areas in different cities and optimizing for walkability and bike use.
I wanted a little bit more train data.
