Review of 'Baptism of Fire' on 'Goodreads'

I think I am starting to suffer from Witcher fatigue. Or maybe I just prefer political intrigue and Ciri's story to the story of Geralt and his band traveling through a war-torn world in order to get to Nilfgaard. We only get fragments of Ciri's story as part of The Rats, a group of bandits.

Like in the other books, it felt like very little was actually happening. I enjoyed the addition of Regis to the cast of characters, as a friendly higher vampire who has forsaken his bloodlust.

For the sake of completion I am glad I read this book, but once again, I can only hope this saga will come to a satisfying end. I read that Sapkowski said that the series is Ciri's story but in this book for the first time it didn't feel like it.
