Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour J. D. Salinger Two semi-autobiographical novellas in Salinger’s Glass family series. Both stories are written in the stream-of-consciousness style with Raise High the Roof Beam narrated by Buddy Glass as he recalls the day of his brother Seymour’s wedding, which Seymour failed to show up for.

Review of 'Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour' on 'Goodreads'

I found it hard to read. The first story is the best but the thing is that I do not like how Buddy tells things. It's kind of tedious and it made me kind of sad because I LOVE Salinger in a way I cannot explain.

Nevertheless,Seymour is a really interesting character and I won't ever be tired of listening to his story.
