I gave it a try after the fiasco of Volume 1.
I have to say it reads better, but that was not very hard.
The story is still really heavy on clichés and narration relies on too many happenstances.
Now this book starts much later. It is another episode in this world. It loosely follows the end of The Lord of the Rings. Two points of views : the Hero and the War.
The end is also totally predictable.
I will probably still read Volume 3, to finish the original Shannara Trilogy.
