A really insightful ethnography of Project Blowed, a workshop / open mic locale for underground hip hop in South Central LA. This is work very much suffused with references to Goffman, Randall Collins, and Elijah Anderson. It's highly readable, so, if you are looking for a good sociological read for undergraduates, this is a good choice.
