Andrés reviewed Ronda de noche by Terry Pratchett
Una joya de Pratchett
5 stars
Toda la esencia de la Guardia de Ankh-Morpork concentrada en esta joya. Quizá el final sea demasiado precipitado, por ponerle alguna pega.

One moment, Sir Sam Vimes is in his old patrolman form, chasing a sweet-talking psychopath across the rooftops of Ankh-Morpork. The next, he's lying naked in the street, having been sent back thirty years courtesy of a group of time-manipulating monks who won't leave well enough alone. Re reading for the millionth time, I love this book so much it's unnatural. This is the American paperback, so I now have two copies, I'm reading to look out for the subtle version changes when books are published in other countries. The story is beautifully told with twists and turns that still catch me out, years after the first time I read it. I'm still in love with Vimes of course, and the brutality of the regime that he fights against still appals. Not least because it causes him to unleash his inner beast. It's a great novel for anyone familiar with the Discworld though if you haven't a knowledge of the characters of the City Watch from previous books you will miss some of the humour and back references.
