This is one of my favorite of Julia Buckley's series. It is well written and also holds the reader in suspense. Lean London is a bookworm, and her idol is a Gothic mystery writer named Camilla Graham (think Mary Stewart or Phyllis Whitney!). This first book in the series is about Lena actually getting a chance to work as her idol's assistant, live in a house that belongs in a Gothic tale, and of course get embroiled in a mystery herself. The characters quickly become dear to one, and they feel very real. I just re-read the whole series, which I own on ebook and audiobook, and they stand up to the re-reading process very well.
Highly recommended.
