Delia reviewed After Evangelicalism by David P. Gushee
First half better than the second
4 stars
With the exception of the last chapter on race and religion. A solid text for the progressive conservative, I found the chapters on the history of evangelicalism stronger than his reflections on his current church life and possibilities for the future. Argues against biblical inerrancy at the same time as providing multiple references and cross references if someone wanted biblical backing for his world views. Very America-centric but reasonable given the influence of American evangelicalism and the fact the author is American. Feels a bit dated (can’t believe 2020 was 6 years ago!!) but good and helpful series of essays/sermons.
