This is my second favorite Charles de Lint novel, following [b:Memory and Dream|186439|Memory and Dream (Newford, #2)|Charles de Lint|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1422767970s/186439.jpg|14299483] simply because that one was my introduction to de Lint. Perhaps there's also a slight edge given to M&D because that's a story of an artist where this one is a story of a musician. The descriptions, the dialogue, the personalities of the characters: all perfect. A prime example of why I fell in love with de Lint's writing. I could confidently hand this book to anyone who loves reading and feel like I'd most likely given them a new favorite author to follow.
