A reasonably solid piece of historical fiction. Perl accurately shows us Boston, Harvard & MIT, as well as culture and geography in the 1860s. The events are completely made up as are two of the main characters, but everything else comes from both Boston's and MIT's records. As such its a solid piece, if not one that will change your life.
