Review of 'The Accursed' on 'Goodreads'

5 stars

This is a wonderful historical novel meets horror show that takes place in Princeton, NJ, in the year 1906. I loved it. And now I am inspired to read more about certain historical figures. Why is it that I've read all of Ayn Rand's novels, but absolutely none by Upton Sinclair or Jack London? That needs to be remedied. And I was intrigued by the fact that Joyce Carol Oates pummels Woodrow Wilson with the ugliest stick she can find...was he really such a contemptible person? (Actually, she's not that kind to Jack London, either.)

This is a long tome, it took me awhile, but it was worth every minute; I was reeled into another world. Joyce Carol Oates has that ability.
