I LOVED this book!

I'm not sure I can adequately express how much I loved it. From how well it was written, to how uplifting, and empowering it was despite the rather heavy at time subject.

I'm always hesitant to read “real life” YA novels, especially those that center heavily around school. As my school experience was pretty darned sucky and I almost always end up with a bad taste in my mouth, but this one did really well. The writing was so good, I was amazed at how quickly I was able to slip into Vivian's head despite how far away and different my HS experiences were. I loved how well the sometimes difficult subject matter was tackled and even as a jaded adult, I finished the book feeling uplifted, hopeful and empowered. I want to go around telling everyone to read it, because I really think it is …
