Ashlee of Jupiter reviewed Star-Crossed by Minnie Darke

I really enjoyed this! I assumed the depth of astrology was solely going to stop at ‘star signs’ but was pleasantly surprised with the mention of things like rising signs and houses - I was initially a little annoyed as to why Justine, a Sagittarius, acted like such a Virgo, only for it to later be revealed that she had a Virgo ascendant
Now, my main gripe: Why were the horoscopes directed towards the characters sun signs, and not their rising signs? The ascendant sign sets up the placement of the houses. There was mention in one of Leo’s writings for Aquarius about Mars transiting 8th house, which would only be relevant if the writing was intended for Aquarius Risings - and it is my understanding that horoscopes should be interpreted using a person’s ascendant sign. So… that kind of bugged me, but maybe that’s my pedantic Virgo moon talking
