Really only deducted one star because the audiobook I listened to (narrator Katie Schorr) said the n word several times...and that just seems an inappropriate thing for a white narrator to say even if it's in the book. Otherwise, I loved the characters, story, setting, and all the research Mx. Richardson did for this book.
