A companion tale to the Court of Thorns and Roses series that picks up several months after A Court of Wings and Ruin.
This is very clearly one of those things where we’re just getting some random bits of info to set the stage for the next part of the series.
I definitely liked getting to peer into the heads of more characters!
I hadn't planned on reading this particular book but I decided as I had, I should at least finish the story so far.
I expected perhaps too much. Because this was all over the place from thoughts over a very hurt and confused Mor back to of all things frivolous? Shopping.
What we see of Nesta’s life post-war left me more than a little confused as it's so far removed from the Nesta Archeron we have come across in previous novels. It's disjointed at best and infuriating at worst - it lacked depth and I honestly don't believe she would have acted the way we are shown her doing in this. To me, it makes little sense even if she does have Survivors Guilt.
I only hope that in book four, a lot if this is addressed and fixed so that 3.5 becomes a bit like Cars 2, it doesn't …
