Daughters of Night is an incredibly immersive tale set in the latter part of the Nineteenth Century and a must for the lover of historical fiction.

The author, Laura Shepherd-Robinson's attention to detail both in regards to the landscape of London at the time and the language used between the different classes ensures that the reader cannot help but feel as though they are witnessing the story first-hand.

The list of characters is many from Prinny or as he's historically known, the Prince of Wales, to tuppence whores both male and female whose tales are fascinating as well as macabre. Caro, our main character, growth throughout the novel is profound and I loved that whilst the restrictions she faces due to her gender and position in society are great? She refuses to give in and fights for what she believes in and to discover the truth to her many questions …
