This book was a quick read, but it felt merely alright to me. I am not opposed to trying more Inspector Sejer books now, but I am in no rush to do so.
I am not sure if the translation from Norwegian was crap, but it felt pretty rough, there was no good flow to it. I am also still cross that the beginning of the book made no sense to me. Who's the guy with the dog? What woman? So confusing.
Other than that, I would say half of the book is not from the viewpoint of the investigation, but from Eva's view. She's directly involved in the two crimes that are being investigated, and basically spends a good chunk of the book confessing. She's hardly a sympathetic character at all, which makes it a bit difficult to get any connection to this book.
