The book is an attempt to explain some complex science to common people. The book starts with the authors explaining the progress of science and how we have been trying to build models and propose theories to explain our world and universe. It then touches the important concepts of modern physics. Finally, it tries to explain the concepts of multiverse, anthropic principle, and M-theory. The intent has always been to keep it simple so that common people can understand the content. The graphics and humor tone have worked well to make the content more engaging.
Concepts explained in the book are complex. The authors have tried to put it in a simple way. But after the reading the book, I have more questions than answers. Perhaps it is the intent of the authors to make common people become interested in physics and science.

Third Hawking book to attempt to understand. Not sure I fully grasped many of the more recent and complex concepts there. Struggled to understand the quantum physics explained, may have grasped some of it for the first time. Some things are way above my imagination. Really liked the first 4 chapters about the history of discovery of laws of nature.
