"The Danes are famously the happiest people in the world, and hygge is a cornerstone of their way of life. Hygge (pronounce Hoo-ga) loosely translates as a sense of comfort, togetherness, and well-being. You know hygge when you feel it. It is when you are cuddled up on the sofa with a loved one, or sharing comfort food with your closest friends. It is those crisp blue mornings when the light through your window is just right. It is about gratitude and savoring the simple pleasures in life. In short, it is the pursuit of everyday happiness." --

Review of 'The Little Book of Hygge' on 'Goodreads'

3 stars

This whole book felt kinda 'meh' - like, i think it would have made a great magazine article, but that there just wasn't really enough for a whole book.
I also found it mildly vexing that there was a whole chapter about how cheap the concept was and how little money needed to be spent to achieve it - directly after the chapter describing all the expensive furniture, lighting fixtures and decorations one needed to make the home 'hyggeligt'

Don't get me wrong, the concept is very good and i heartily agree and strive for it in my own life. Just the book wasn't all that great
