Ha invece a che fare con l'antica lotta fra fanatismo e pragmatismo. Fra fanatismo e pluralismo. Fra fanatismo e tolleranza. Il fanatismo nasce molto prima dell'Islam, del cristianesimo, del giudaismo. Viene prima di qualsiasi stato, governo o sistema politico. Prima di qualsiasi ideologia o credo. Disgraziatamente, il fanatismo è una componente sempre presente nella natura umana, è un gene del male." (Amos Oz)
È un bel libro scorrevole in cui Amos Oz spiega cos'è il fanatismo, come combatterlo e la soluzione al problema israelo-palestinese secondo lui.
Avrei preferito imparare un po' di più, ma apprezzo anche la concisione.
An interesting take on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in a slim volume (adapted from a couple of lectures). Oz argues that the conflict is between two peoples, both of whom are right about their claim to the land. It's not an opinion that many partisans of both sides will accept, but that might be an argument for it. Still, it could perhaps be expanded beyond these few pages - few even with a totally unenlightening interview with Oz tacked on at the end.
