OK, this could be a problem. I just swallowed this whole book so amazingly fast. It's even better than the first book. The author does an amazing job of fitting the real Colorado of my every day life into this magic universe that our main character, Allison "Lex" Luthor lives in. And keeps track of all the details - I don't have to think - wait, who is taking care of the dogs - or wait, how does she hold down her job and do this - because it is all included. And descriptions of everywhere from Denver, Boulder and Idaho Springs too. The magical universe is plausible. There is some violence and sadness - but I was once again able to read the book without having to stop and get calm. And no diet culture warnings at all. I hope there's tons more of these books. Wow!

Been reading for a VERY long time. Science Fiction and Fantasy were my first loves; I do love a good Cozy Mystery now that I am older. Knitting, reading, and a cup of tea all sound grand.

I highly recommend this new (to me) series by Melissa Olson. It is well written, with complex characters. Trigger Warning for violence, but amazing none at all for diet culture. I quickly became fond of Allison "Lex" Luther as she deals with a new reality - that magic is real, and something she has to deal with.
