I got this as background research for a future book on legends about "Venetians" from German folklore. The folkloric Venetians were just as secretive as real world Venetians were about protecting their secrets, and I will be curious to see how the two versions match up.
It will probably also be rather interesting fodder for tabletop role-playing games.
