From the award-winning author of the Number 1 bestseller, Unravelling Oliver, comes another absorbing, twisty, …

Twists and turns

I have decided to read all of Nugent’s books after really enjoying Strange Sally Diamond. This is my second of hers and also very much enjoyed it. Not going to talk about what happes because of spoilers.

Bill Bryson: A Walk in the Woods (Paperback, 1999, Broadway)

Bill Bryson describes his attempt to walk the Appalachian Trail with his friend "Stephen Katz". …

Interesting read about Bill's adventures on the Appalachian Trail. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes sobering, sometimes downright depressing, but always engaging.

Jessica Barry: Freefall (2019, HarperCollins Canada, Limited)

The life that she's built for herself - her perfect fiance, their world of luxury …

Decent but standard thriller

Good premise, OK story

Had a hard time getting into this one. Decent enough story and the premise is very interesting, kind of a mix of elements from Battelstar Galactica and Old Man's War. Very little background to the universe, why it is in the situation it is in so it is hard to care much about what happens. Just didn't work for me. Too bad because I like Dewes' other work.
