Ivor_Apantion finished reading All's well that ends well by William Shakespeare (Signet classics Shakespeare)
Content warning I do go into detail of some plot things I find interesting.
While Shakespeare is normally out of my wheel-house for academic studies and personal interest, I really enjoyed this play and is probably my preferred choice out of his problem comedies. One specific staging of the play done on the globe was of particular interest to me as it really opened up my view on possible directorial decisions for certain scenes. The reversal of agency between man and women with Bertram and Helena is of course rather intriguing, even if it seems its mostly used as a means to criticise the issues with the powers guardians had over their wards. I also found the homoerotic nature of Bertram's relationship Parolles to be rather intriguing, and the open-ended question of what Helena's "cure" for the Fisher King even is.
