A bit slow, but much more easily enjoyable than Harrow. A bit too much acceleration and panic at the very end, but it will probably make sense when the next book expands on these moments in more detail (maybe? possibly? hopefully? hard to tell with Muir ^_^' )

A delightful tale. It would be an amazing entry point for the Cosmere if it wasn't so PACKED with hints to the broader Cosmere ^_^''

First 30% is so jarring I almost put down the book for good 😵💫
The subsequent 30% is kind of a difficult read too, because I could see where everything was leading but DAMN it took too long and I kind of failed to care about anyone 😖
Final 40% is a page turner. Still not as good as Gideon. And it definitely overuses a certain "twist" that is kind of reapplied wholesale 1 2 3 times by the end of the book. But at least I wanted to read on to see what happened.
One AMAZING character arch and redemption moment is almost worth the whole book on its own.
Overall I wish Muir had delivered the same narrative in... a different way 😅
