Auschwitz Memorial

21 November 1915 | Stanisław Ryniak was born in Sanok. He was the first Polish prisoner registered in Auschwitz on 14 June 1940 (camp no. 31). In October 1944 he was transferred to Letmeritz, a subcamp of KL Flossenbürg.

He survived the war. He died on 13 February 2004.

Ah, and not even the hope for a different, better world, but simply for life, a life of peace and rest. Never before in the history of mankind has hope been stronger than man, but never also has it done so much harm as it has in the war, in this concentration camp.
