Good day!

Peace must be earned.

Whether it’s learning to meditate, & then forcing yourself to take the time…

Or it’s finding the time to take to the trail, to circle a lake, to parallel a stream, or climb towards the clouds.

That’s why it’s a reward.

Be everwell.

From the edge of a promontory, the view looks past brush red prior to autumn and through a few pine trees and down at a saddle that’s lost in the rain clouds that have settled in. Beyond the clouds, the next promontory emerges from the haze, a mix of golden grass and pines. The moment invokes peacefulness, yet quickens the pulse with wonder.

No writing complaints. The edit on Buried Remembrances is surprisingly on schedule.

Drafting the backstory novella, Inverted Reversal, is suffering. It’s what I set aside when time is short.

Photography (more info w/images) is linked to hiking, five hikes that included climbing Woody Mtn & another that was 17.2 miles (27.7K) long.

Hiked? 56.7 miles (91.3K), 8,917 ft. altitude (2,718M).

Taken from atop a rise, a sea of golden grasses rolls over gentle hills to where forests climb a mountain to the right. In the distance at center and to the left are more, larger peaks that form the horizon. The sky is cloudy overhead, but it’s clear over the distant mountains.

Always knew there was another large melting ice age remnant ice patch 3km ESE of where we park on Beartooth Highway/Plateau 3260m below ski area. Can just barely see it. Had short weather window assess it 0900-1200 before destabilization and duress. 8C lite wind and sprinkling πŸ‘πŸ½, but never got soaked. It's at 3140m, long/narrow on NE facing slope. Melting out quickly, looks like some will make it thru this summer. Did loop back, found a smaller one.

much easier access from below. enjoyed the cool 8C sprinkles did not get soaked.
looking NW from 3250m Beartooth Plateau NW to Rock Crk Canyon. Hellroaring Plateau out on right. tundra has dried out but the high RH and sprinkles softened it πŸ‘πŸ½ that sky means business, we will never forget our ordeal last 20 June.

Crystal Lake as seen from Crystal Peak across from Mt Rainier Natl Park. It's an 8 mile roundtrip hike to viewpoints from which, when its clear (which it was last time I visited, but not this time), one can see 6 volcanoes; Hood, St Helens, Adams, Rainier, Baker, and Glacier.
