Zohran Mamdani sought to remove a drone manufacturing company from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, which is owned by the city, because of its role in surveillance operations in Palestine. This decision came just six weeks after Mamdani assumed office.

The company was founded by former Israeli army personnel and manufactured drone in a box systems for defensive and security purposes. It also collaborated with companies such as Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer.

The company provided drones used to monitor the Gaza border, which were reported to contribute to Israeli military operations and acts of genocide against Palestinians.

France is calling for the resignation of the UN special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories over comments she made allegedly targeting Israel at a conference, the foreign minister says.

“France unreservedly condemns the outrageous and reprehensible remarks made by Ms. Francesca Albanese, which are directed not at the Israeli government, whose policies may be criticized, but at Israel as a people and as a nation, which is absolutely unacceptable,” Jean-Noel Barrot tells French lawmakers.

“She is a political activist who stirs up hate speech that does a disservice to the cause of the Palestinian people,” he says, responding to a question from Carole Yadan, a lawmaker from the presidential camp. Yadan was among 20 other deputies to warn Barrot in a letter yesterday that Albanese should be “stripped of any UN mandate with immediate effect” following her remarks.

Israël vermoordt opnieuw journalisten in Gaza

Door de moord op drie Palestijnse journalisten in Gaza wordt de groep lokale journalisten die verslag kan doen van de genocide opnieuw uitgedund. Buitenlandse journalisten mogen het gebied nog altijd niet in. Maandag oordeelt het Israëlisch Hooggerechtshof of dat verbod in stand mag blijven.

Bij een Israëlische luchtaanval op een auto in centraal-Gaza zijn woensdag drie Palestijnse journalisten vermoord, melden eerstehulpverleners in het ziekenhuis. De Palestijnse Journalistenbond zei in een verklaring dat de drie bezig waren met een ‘humanitaire, journalistieke missie om het lijden van burgers te filmen en te documenteren’.
