10 Nov 'Has your writing changed over the years? If so, how?'

I started Book 1, Conflicts and Alliances, on 2 Jan 2025.

I am determined to release it by 31 Dec 2025.

Previously I wrote only non fiction.

In the course of this year alone the novel has morphed from a humorous story for 12 year olds to a serious debate about ethics and civic society in 2450AD (peppered with humour)

Unfortunately, in book two, HayWire elects to do a Diplôme Supérieur instead of pursuing his current apprenticeship.

As he explains to his girlfriend.

Unfortunately, this means that the real life author is reading PhD theses on the subject of fluid dynamics!

Ulysses reviews The Horizon’s Edge by James E. Honaker

"A solid sci-fi fantasy, with a very interesting premise. The fact that its tone shifts from the banter in a Seinfeld episode to potential apocalypse is a little disconcerting, but somehow Honaker makes his characters appealing... the dramatic finale and cliffhanger left me hungry for book 2. 4 stars!"

A while back, my daughter commanded me to read Of Monsters & Mainframes by Barbara Truelove without looking at anything about it.

It's a great book. Everyone should read it without reading the copy or reviews.

But if you require reviews, here's mine:

6 Nov 'use of unconventional punctuation'

In order to distinguish verbal dialogue from communication by thought transference (and to avoid confusing the reader) I have a strict system.

Inverted commas for the former and Guillemet for the latter

The example shows KristalClear talking to Tolstoy, the military Police Dog, and relaying the information to TedTalker and CandiCrush.
