Buchempfehlung:
Farben ohne Farbe

"Both the loss and uncertainty surrounding wildfires are traumatic, Jeff Katzman, a Connecticut-based psychiatrist who grew up in Pacific Palisades, California, told Axios.

'There is the lingering, not knowing status of what happened,' he said. 'There's the experience of loss of an entire community that has generations of meaning.'"

Looking for a Christmas present for the Space Opera nerd in your life? The one who insists on you watching The Expanse and all of Star Trek with them although you really, truly don't care about SciFi?

How about giving them Herald Petrel for Christmas? It is 457 pages and so they will be occupied for a while.

It has a to be solved, quirky characters and is about , , , , and in a hopeless situation.

Warning: It doesn't have a white guy as a captain who fixes everything. And there is A LOT that needs fixing.

You can get it in all your fav book stores: https://books2read.com/HeraldPetrel

Content warning mental/physical health grumbles

hurt people hurt people is hard to remember when you're the people being hurt by the hurt people

Translation:
it's hard to remember that someone you love is hurting you because of their own hurt and not because you're a shit person who deserves it

Translation:
humans are clumsy and sometimes your mental illness stuff crashes against my mental illness stuff in spiky and painful ways

Translation:
shit is hard

Finishing up The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma this week. I started this in July and set it down when we got back home from the cabin. I think it's time I get back to it.

@bookstodon

It's that time of year. Because nothing makes more sense at the height of summer than to send explosives & bullets into the sky, where they must eventually fall down. Can you tell I hate it? Because I hate it. It already sounds like a war zone where I am. Hope you stay safe, cool, and are somewhere quiet.

Tiana Warner: From Fan to Forever (Paperback, 2022, Ylva Publishing)

An age-gap lesbian celebrity romance about how much you’d risk to have your dream. Talented …

A good romance arc, but the Hollywood stuff was not for me

3¾⭐️/5

I know, I know, the Hollywood stuff was the entire point of the book. But I don’t connect with the “actors and their families give up their right to privacy” narrative, so it was a bit much for me.
